  • Absolutly fantastic. I don't need to interpret the spec, that is already done. The physical part is very, very good and useful!

  • I have used it a lot and it's very practical. I wait for the RRC module to be launched ( RRC is now live )
(Har använt det flitigt och tycker att det är väldigt användbart. Väntar dock otåligt på RRC .)

  • A smooth way of finding specifications - useful
(Smidigt sätt att hitta specar - användbartl)

  • Useful but I haven't had time to study the full tool yet
(Användbart, men har inte hunnit titta på allt än )

  • Very time saving and very good to get an overview vad other specifications cover ( tester is engaged in 3GPP standardization work )
(Mycket tidsbesparande och väldigt bra att få en översikt vad andra specar täcker)

  • My general impression is that TheSpecTool is a splendid tool, giving overview but also deepth of the 3GPP spec content. Furthermore, it's presented in a way that makes it easier to grasp the text in the specifications.
(Mitt allmänna intryck är att SpecTools är ett utmärkt verktyg för att få en överblick och även relativt detaljerad information om innehållet i 3GPP specarna, dessutom presenterat på ett sätt som är enklare att ta till sig än texten i specarna.)

  • 3GPP Tutorials via 'The SpecTools'

Some of you may have noticed that the new and revamped 3GPP website have recently started offering 3GPP specs and features tutorials via The SpecTools. There is quite a lot of useful information and most of it is premium but a lot is free as well.

  • User working for a very large global ICT company:

    Dear Hans,
Thanks for the mail. Spectool is really a good resource for me to get quickly upto speed with the standards.

Let me answer your questions one by one.

    1. What is your overall impression?

The overall impression is very positive and this is a unique educational tool that you have developed, unlike others who explain the basic concepts or theoretical explanation of the technologies. You have addressed a key aspect of understanding the standard - i.e., and reduced the learning curve in going through the standards.

    2. What other technologies and areas would be of interest?

A similar attempt on the IEEE 802.16e and 802.16m would be of interest, though my current focus is only on LTE.

    3. Value of the tool: Is the Price level reflecting the level of complexity – Yes/No?

Being from India, the price of the tool is little on the higher side for individuals, but having said that I make it a habit to apportion a substantial amount for self learning and so I find the price just right for this purpose.  The answer is YES.

  • Senior user working for an US operator

I've used the spec tool and am very happy with it. You've done a great job!

My only recommendation would be to offer some sort of site license that wouldn't be time based (in hours), but would be more like an annual subscription. ( it’s now done, SpecTool remark)

  • User working for a leading LTE system provider:

Thank you very much for your excellent tool.

  • User working for European telecom operator:

I’m very happy with your tool!  It makes faster to understand the LTE specifications. I still like classroom training but this is a very good compliment and more advanced.
